Salt can keep snakes out of the house, myth or fact?

Snakes are very dangerous reptiles, not like dogs whose barks sound different from snakes, we can't know and avoid their existence.

However, many people think salt can repel snakes from the house. This is thought to be because the salt can make the snake hot like a fire and eventually leave the house.

So, is it true that salt is able to repel snakes from the house? Is this fact or myth?

"We once rescued snakes in the house and it turned out that there was a lot of salt (placed) in the corner of the room. It's better to use the salt for cooking," explained Panji Petualang, quoted from Panji Petualang TV's YouTube channel, Thursday (10/01/2020). 6/2021).

According to Panji, the association of salt which will have a bad effect on snakes is just a myth that has been around for a long time. In fact, this myth is still believed by many people and is difficult to dispel to this day.

To prove this, Panji also conducted an experiment by inserting a python into a box that had been sprinkled with salt, as a result the snake did not react.

Salt can indeed have an effect in killing animals but only for "slimy" types of animals such as snails, snails, worms, snails, leeches, to catfish. Salt can cause death and pain in slimy animals.

The snake's body is not slimy but scaly, snake scales are the same as human nails, which are made up of keratin.

So, if a snake enters the house, do not sprinkle it with salt because it will be in vain, it is better to call the authorities such as a fire brigade or a snake charmer who is an expert in taming snakes.
